Robina Rich Bouffault

Robina Rich Bouffault My husband and I came to Clarke County in 1981, where we purchased a small farm near Boyce. After he passed away, I became more involved with local activities, including the public schools problems which have become more complicated over the last few years.

Since 2001, I have tracked the schools' progress and test results, analyzed the schools budgets and closely followed the various new high school construction projects -also observing that the current School Board and school administration seem unable to come to grips with the many issues facing them.

This situation has motivated me to run for School Board in Clarke County.

There is a better way, and there needs to be a new approach.

With my financial analysis and construction background, I believe that I can help. (see My Bio).

My concerns are centered into 3 main categories, each of which is explained in more detail in their individual categories:

Academics Construction The Money

"Such a degree of learning [should be] given to every member of the society as will enable him to read, to judge and to vote understandingly on what is passing."

--Thomas Jefferson to Littleton Waller Tazewell, 1805

"We looked at the problems facing America and realized that if we are going to be a competitive nation, we need a far better educated populace than we have now. The American K-12 public education has gone from No. 1 in the world some 30 years ago, to No. 19. We thought, This is bad for the country and bad for our democracy."

--Eli Broad - multi-billionaire, (founder - SunAmerica). Has now established The Broad Residency in Urban Education.
